| Let's see... - Wikipedia wrote:
- Pentium Dual Core T3400
sSpec Number: SLB3P Frequency: 2167 MHz L2 Cache: 1 MB FSB: 667 MHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 sSpec Number: SLGJ4 (R0) Frequency: 2000 MHz L2 Cache: 2 MB FSB: 800 MT/s Now if only I knew what all this meant...LOL!

| despite core 2 duo having a slightly less frequency, it is ultimately better, mostly because of the larger cache | |

*Snap his fingers while lying on the bed*
eSpec Number is it sub series Frequency it's how fast your processor processes data Cache is were the processor saves frequently acessed data FSB is the transmission speed between CPU and RAM (without counting with other factors and if the RAM and CPU have the same FSB frequency)
The diference is that in the core 2 duo is that frequency per die (two dies, so you get around 4000 Mhz in total, [mean processing two pieces of data at 2000 Mhz])
And the Pentium Dual-Core, which has a simulated split between the core is basicly multiplying by 1.5x its value (around that) and you get the value, as pentium processors have multithreading since pentium 4, being on dual core an enhanced version of multithreading...

| I am astounded by your responses guys. Especially JPB's obsessive amazing knowledge Thank you very much, you've proved that an older version is better than the new. | |

| obsessive xD
The new one is better than the older one... it has a faster transmission rate and it can process simultaneously 2 pieces of data at the same time, while the old one (pentium), can only process one piece of data at a time, but it works in the way that it seems that it processes the double...
The Core 2 Duo has really two cores, but the Pentium Dual-Core as only one die, but it simulates the existence of two... The Core 2 Duo is much better for pc's who will make very graphical ended uses (rendering, playing, CAD, etc...)... The Dual-Core, isn't better, but is enough for most people, who use it's pc for office, internet and other small things...
Oh, and it isn't obssessive... it is what I'm studying at AISE (IAES - Informatic Apps and Exploration Sistems)
